M&M’s – Pineapple

At first bite, it’s evident that these are not regular M&M’s, but the pineapple flavour isn’t quite distinctive enough to really let itself be known.

I’m a pineapple fiend. I can’t get enough. I order it on pizza if available and there’s no way I can go past a burger if it has it. My pineapple love extends to fake pineapple flavours in chocolates. So, imagine how excited I became when I discovered pineapple M&M’s on my supermarket shelf.

I was, however, underwhelmed. Much like many of the M&M variants, eating these made me wish I’d just selected a standard packet of M&M’s. At first bite, it’s evident that these are not regular M&M’s, but the pineapple flavour isn’t quite distinctive enough to really let itself be known. After eating a few and/or a handful at once, the flavour is more pronounced.

Ultimately, these are tasty enough, but there are both better flavours of M&M’s and better pineapple-flavoured chocolates within arms reach in your local confectionary aisle.

How would you say they compare to Pineapple Lumps, the greatest of all pineapple /chocolate combinations?

Poorly. Pineapple lumps have a far more distinctive flavour. There’s no room for subtlety in candy goods.
